“For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk with integrity, 8to guard the paths of justice and protect the way of His saints. 9Then you will discern righteousness and justice and equity—every good path.” Proverbs 2:6-9 Berean Standard

We hear so much today that people are seeking for justice and equity in society. That is a good thing! It is even the heart of God and the purpose of His Word. The problem is that people don’t really want the truth because maybe they are wrong! Solomon reminds us that one of the benefits of the Word of God is exactly that, righteousness, justice, and equity. You see you cannot have any of those unless all of those are present. The promise of God is that if we follow His way we will find “every good path.” Jesus told His disciples,

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10 AMP

The truth of the matter is that Satan has convinced people that his way leads to life when in reality, it leads to death! God warned Adam and Eve in the garden,

“So the LORD God took the man [He had made] and settled him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it. 16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may freely (unconditionally) eat [the fruit] from every tree of the garden; 17but [only] from the tree of the knowledge (recognition) of good and evil you shall not eat, otherwise on the day that you eat from it, you shall most certainly die [because of your disobedience]” Genesis 2:15-17 AMP

Satan however used the command of God to subvert its intention,

“But the serpent said to the woman, “You certainly will not die! 5For God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened [that is, you will have greater awareness], and you will be like God, knowing [the difference between] good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5 AMP

Nothing has changed since that fateful day! Satan is convincing man that God’s ways are less than desirable! I have always said that Satan has convinced man that he is living now and going to die when, in reality, we are dying now and going to live! The Scripture is clear on this issue as Paul wrote to the church at Rome,

Yet death ruled [over mankind] from Adam to Moses [the Lawgiver], even over those who had not sinned as Adam did. Adam is a type of Him (Christ) who was to come [but in reverse—Adam brought destruction; Christ brought salvation]. Romans 5:14 AMP

Jesus promised us that death would not reign over us even though the flesh is dying,

“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the person who hears My word [the one who heeds My message], and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has (possesses now) eternal life [that is, eternal life actually begins—the believer is transformed], and does not come into judgment and condemnation, but has passed [over] from death into life.” John 5:24 AMP

If we truly want righteousness, justice, and equity in the world today, we must embrace God’s Word and raise it up as the true standard that will produce those results! Have a blessed day. Pastor Ken
