“The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life and his words of wisdom are a source of blessing, But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence and evil. 12Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers and overwhelms all transgressions [forgiving and overlooking another’s faults].”
Proverb 10: 11-12 AMP
In our Proverb today we are told that his “Word of wisdom are a source of blessing.” Interesting description by King Solomon! The Hebrew word “fountain” is the word meaning “that which is the origin of beginning of a state or time.” Miriam-Webster Dictionary defines it “of relating to or involved in the perception of relationships as of objects.” The two are indicating that there is a direct relationship between the words of wisdom and blessing! Jesus told His disciples that,
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh conveys no benefit [it is of no account]. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life [providing eternal life].” John 6:33 AMP
The whole purpose of Jesus coming was to give life to those who were lost in sin!
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”
John 10:10 AMP
The Apostle Paul wrote,
“But now since you have been set free from sin and have become [willing] slaves to God, you have your benefit, resulting in sanctification [being made holy and set apart for God’s purpose], and the outcome [of this] is eternal life.”
Romans 6:22 AMP
We are now “willing slaves” to the service of God following His way. The result of that is our benefit of salvation and being set apart for His purpose. We see and experience the transformation of our minds and actions because the Word of God is conforming us to the image of Christ. That process is brining g life and blessing to us until the final day of our redemption in glory! The outcome of the wicked is very different!
We are told that their activity brings violence, evil, and stirs up strife. We clearly see that today as we watch cites burning and violence spreading in the name of “peaceful protests.” They justify their actions with excuses designed to hide their own reasonability by blaming a whole segment of humanity instead of themselves! They cry “I am a victim,” and they are, a victim of Satan’s plan to lie, kill and destroy whatever he can before Christ returns to claim that which is His own! The problem is, they don’t see it because they are blind by the lie of the enemy, “You deserve this!”
The Proverbs goes on to say that “love” is what overwhelms and covers transgressions. I am not saying that terrible things were not done in the past and that everything is perfect today. I am saying however that evil flourishes in the soil of unforgiveness. If I forgive, there is no excuse for my behavior. I must then surrender and remember that I was a victim of Satan, not of man! That means all the fury and fire of my anger is turned toward extending to others the love of which I received from Christ. The truth is that the only victim of my sin is Jesus Christ! He truly suffered because of my disobedience yet loved me enough to take my punishment and die for me!
There are so many things to be angry about in the world today. The only solution to the problem is to acknowledge that I am part of it and in need of help! It means taking responsibility for myself and actions and falling wholly on the grace and forgiveness of the cross! Once I can get to that place, all things will become new! Paul wrote,
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he isa new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].”
2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP
I encourage you to acknowledge and surrender today to the love of God through Christ Jesus! Have a blessed day, Pastor Ken
Amen. God bless you pastor Ken for this message.
