“Engaging in evil is like sport to the fool [who refuses wisdom and chases sin], But to a man of understanding [skillful and godly] wisdom brings joy.”

Proverbs 10:23 AMP

Solomon here contrasts the activity of perusing evil or pursuing righteousness. Remember from Proverbs 1:7, fools are those who “despise wisdom and instruction” thus rejecting God and see no fear in Him. Look at the word “engaging.” The Hebrew word here is the word meaning to “expend considerable effort and activity in a task or endeavor.” It also means to “cause, make, or to bring about a state.” The goal of evil is to bring about a state of unrighteousness and the removal of the image of God in man. The whole gender blending movement is aimed at removing the image of God in man and replacing it with a warped picture of a grotesque animal. The Scripture is clear that,

“Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.”

Every time Satan sees man, he is reminded of their creator so the attack naturally would be against the natural order of God’s creation perverting it! The Proverb goes on to say that those engaged in evil not only want to bring about a state of confusion, but it also includes those who support them. The word “sport” used here is the word laughter. It is not joyous laughter but rather a scornful mocking of another! It means to “make fun of someone claiming that he is something that he is not or by imitating him in a distorting manner.” Every day we see this at work as Christians are mocked and misrepresented by evil in the world today and those in the stands join laughingly at their plight! God spoke to Isaiah about this very condition.

“The righteous man perishes [at the hand of evil], and no one takes it to heart; Faithful and devout men are taken away, while no one understands That the righteous person is taken away [to be spared] from disaster and evil 2He enters into peace [through death]; They rest in their beds (graves), Each one who walked uprightly [following God’s will, living with integrity].”

Isaiah 57:1-2 AMP

There is however a good description of our current day.

““But come here, you sons of a sorceress [raised in deception and superstition], Offspring of an adulterer and a prostitute. 4“Of whom do you make fun? Against whom do you open wide your mouth And stick out your tongue? Are you not children of rebellion (sin), Offspring of deceit, 5Who inflame yourselves [with lust in pagan rites] among the oaks (terebinth trees), Under every green and leafy tree, Who slaughter the children [in sacrifice] in the ravines Under the clefts of the rocks? 6“Among the smooth stones of the ravine Is your portion, they (the idols) are your lot; Even to them you have poured out a drink offering, You have offered a grain offering. Should I be quiet concerning these things [leaving them unpunished–bearing them with patience]? 7“Upon a high and lofty mountain You have [openly and shamelessly] made your [idolatrous and adulterous] bed; Even there you went up to offer sacrifice [to idols, in spiritual unfaithfulness to Me]. 8“Behind the door and the doorpost You have set up your [pagan] symbol; Indeed, far removed from Me, you have uncovered yourself, And have gone up and made your bed wide. And you have made a [new] agreement for yourself with the adulterers, You have loved their bed, You have looked [with passion] on their manhood.” Isaiah 

Isaiah 57:3-8 AMP

Can you see Satan’s plan exposed? “Raised in deception, our schools: “sticking out your tongue, mocking God; “Inflamed with lust,” sexual sin; “slaughter of children,” abortion; “Open and shamelessly, new laws; “pagan symbol removed from me,” rainbow (God’s promise of life;” “a new agreement for yourself,” protected classes. I could go on, but you get the idea. The Scripture tells us that there isn’t anything new under the heavens. Satan uses the same old-same old to continue to deceive those lost in their sin.

Saints, the only defense against this is a good offense. Pray and fasting is the key to victory. Remember that it isn’t people we are battling but principalities and powers of wickedness in heavenly places. Are you prepared? What if it is you they are coming for? Jesus told His disciples,

“Listen carefully: I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; so be wise as serpents, and innocent as doves [have no self-serving agenda]. 17Beware of men [whose nature is to act in opposition to God], for they will hand you over to the courts and flog you in their synagogues; 18and you will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given you within that [very] hour; 20for it is not you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”
