Forgotten Origins

“The perverse in heart are repulsive and shamefully vile to the LORD, But those who are blameless and above reproach in their walk are His delight! 21Assuredly, the evil man will not go unpunished, But the descendants of the righteous will be freed.”

Proverbs 11: 20-21 AMP

The national of Israel was born from God and given the keys to life and death. Over time they became cold a callous to the ways of God and began chasing after other gods. Once again, we see that the slippery road away from God is the rebellion of His moral standards of living! The word translated “repulsive and shamefully vile” is the word we now use, perversion! It means to be morally crocked or warped; pertaining to what is distorted or perverted from a justly, right condition. I the book of Deuteronomy we read these words,

““For I proclaim the name [and presence] of the LORD; Ascribe greatness and honor to our God! 4“The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness without iniquity (injustice), Just and upright is He. 5“They (Israel) have acted corruptly toward Him. They are not His children, because of their [moral] defect; But are a perverse and crooked generation. 6“Do you thus repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is not He your Father who has acquired you [as His own]? He has made you and established you [as a nation].”

Deuteronomy 32:3-6 AMP

The people had forgotten their origin and provider thinking that they knew better! You can remove the word Israel from here and insert any one of many countries and people that were originally founded on God’s word but now in rebellion including the United States! In the book is Isaiah, God confronts the people for abandoning Him.

“Hear, O heavens, and listen, O earth; For the LORD has spoken: “I have reared and brought up sons, But they have rebelled against Me and have broken away3“The ox [instinctively] knows its owner, And the donkey its master’s feeding trough, But Israel does not know [Me as LORD], My people do not understand.”

Isaiah 1:2-3 AMP

Look at the description of the land that rejects God,

“Your land lies desolate [because of your disobedience], Your cities are burned with fire, Your fields–strangers are devouring them in your very presence; It is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.”

Isaiah 1:7 AMP

Have you watched the news lately? The good news is that God has left you as a remnant in land as a testimony of His faithfulness even unto the sinner.

“If the LORD of hosts Had not left us a few survivors, We would be like Sodom, We would be like Gomorrah.”

Isaiah 1:9 AMP

This is why it is so important that the believer hold fast in the ways of God and stand up for righteousness for those who “But those who are blameless and above reproach in their walk are His delight!”

Our opening verse tells us that those who chose the way of the Lord will be freed!

““Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be like wool. 19“If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the best of the land; 20But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Isaiah 1:18-20 AMP

If we truly want to see revival come to our land it will not be through protests and anger. The only hope for any nation now is for people to come and reason with God. Choosing life over death and destruction is a reasonable choice! Have a blessed day, Pastor Ken
