Whom Will You Serve Today?

““Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and in truth; remove the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the [Euphrates] River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Joshua 24:14-15 AMP

Today I am throwing down the gauntlet and call in the ministry members and partners to join me on a journey for the next 30 days! We looked at the verse in the book of James which speaks about putting action to our faith. Faith is more than a wish or a hope, it is an action that is based upon the reality of God’s Word! Many times, we pray the promises of God’s Word then with the same mouth speak the opposite of what we just prayed! We have in essence canceled the words that we just prayed!

For the next 30 days I am challenging you to a month of “No Negativity.” I am asking that for the next 30 days that you guard the words that are coming from your lips! It is so easy to be negative in the world today. We must practice controlling what comes across our lips! If you found yourself about to speaks something negative, call to memory a verse of Scripture that would speak life instead of judgement. Here is an example:

I am watching the State of the Union address and from my mouth came the words, “What an idiot that guys is!” Suddenly I realized that instead pf praying for those in authority over me I spoke judgement. I immediately changed my confession to, “Lord, I pray for the President that the powers and principalities of darkness deceiving him be canceled in Jesus’ name. Father, open his heart to the reality of your love and break the darkness that has overtaken his life!”

You see, the devil wants us to fight a spiritual battle in the physical realm when it can only be fought in the spiritual realm. That is where the Word of God has authority and power! The enemy desires that we be distracted and guided by our emotions and feelings rather than what God’s Word says!

For the next 30 days I am calling you join me in walking a road of faith. I will daily post a “Pray for Power and Promise.” This exercise we will look at promises from God’s Word and then pray into and see the glory and power of the Lord revealed. It will take everything in you not to let the words and attitudes of the enemy leave your lips. I am sure though that as the month goes on it will become more easy and fruitful! Do not think for a moment that from the second you decide to journey this road with me that Satan will not bring challenges your way. The good news is however that He can never overpower the Holy Spirit.

I have penned and attached a daily prayer that I would like you to start each day with as we expectantly and excitedly receive from the depths of God’s love! May the Holy Spirit strengthen us and revel to us the areas of our speech that are not bringing forth good fruit for the Kingdom of God!  Have a blessed day, Pastor Ken

Daily Prayer:

Good morning, Lord,

Today I thank you for giving me another day to be an epistle written unto this age of the goodness of Your grace.

I proclaim that I possess the righteousness of Christ because I was bought with the precious blood of Christ, and I my life is not my own!

It is no longer I that live but Christ that lives through me therefore I will glorify Christ with my body and seek to exalt Him in everything think, say, and do.

I boldly proclaim this day that I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, and I choose to walk in the victory of the cross and I will possess all that it provides for me and my family.

I bind the work of Satan and the plans he attempts against me in Jesus name and I cll the angles who are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation to my defense.

I choose to boldly proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called me out of this darkness into His wonderful light and I will never hide the truth of God’s love as long as it is possible for me to do so.

I proclaim that this is the year of provision, harvest, and victory and I will sow into the soil of God’s faithfulness with everything in my hand.

In Jesus name…AMEN!
