His Grace!

“Yet grace [God’s undeserved favor] was given to each one of us [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and abundant] gift.”

Ephesians 4:7 AMP

Grace, God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense! Everything we are in Christ is because of His great mercy! I love this translation of the verse because it drives home the fact that God understands our each, and every problem. Look again at the words written there, “not indiscriminately, but in different ways.” What a great picture of God’s grace in action. Not all are drug addicts in need of deliverance, but there is grace. Not all are murderers, but there is grace. Not all are lyers, cheaters, or thieves, but there is grace. The grace of God come in many different forms and in many different ways. Even the Apostle Paul, the stalwart of the New Testament received God’s grace when nothing else could do!

“Concerning this I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might leave me; 9but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough–always available–regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. 10So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].”

2 Corinthians 12:8-10 AMP

There are times we may expect an instant deliverance from a problem or situation, but His grace is sufficient for us! It should be comforting to know that God is not looking for perfection in our life. We are however called to “work out our salvation, that is how we are applying Hs grace to our lives.

“So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ].

Philippians 2:12 AMP

Everything we enjoy that is good and worthwhile, we enjoy by the grace of God. We don’t deserve these things; we cannot earn them, and we are not worthy of them. We are who we are and can rest in the loving mercy and grace of our Savior! I have always said that grace now give us an opportunity to NOT sin and not an opportunity TO sin and then ask for forgiveness. However, when we do fall into sin His grace is sufficient. If I will confess my sin, He is faithful and just to forgive me!
