Yes Lord!

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom]. 18And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 AMP

Today’s verse talks about the place of intimacy. In a day and age or rapid movement, we seem to forget about the importance of taking time to be quiet before the Lord! The definition of the word intimacy is “When a person becomes close to someone else and are reassured that they are loved and accepted for who they are.” What a beautiful description of what God wants in our relationship with Himself! Many of us think about all that we sacrifice for the Lord. Our money, skills, talents, and service, we rarely think that our time with Him is just as important!

Verse 18 of this section tells us that when we are intimate with God that we are being “transformed” into His image. Haven’t we all heard that the more time you spend with someone the more like them you become? Through the intimacy of our relationship, we are being transformed into the image of what God desires from our lives, not that which we want. Our part is to yield, His part is to create! I am reminded of the potter and the clay. The medium is totally yielded to the potter. The creator may decide that the form isn’t quite what they wanted and smash the clay back to a moldable lump. Once the form is set, into the fire! Remember that it is God who is a work in you to accomplish His will, not yours.

“I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].”

Philippians 1:6 AMP

Do you see it? “…will continue to perfect and complete it…” It is in the place of trust that we allow a doctor to administer a medication that will render us totally unconscious believing that when we awaken, he will have performed his promised task. How much more then should we yield ourselves to the One who gave His life for us! I am reminded of the verse,

“Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart And do not rely on your  insight or understanding. 6In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].” Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP

There it is…TRUST! Trust can only be gained by intimacy. You see, God is at work inside of you so that which is seen will glorify His name! We must allow God to have His way in timing, purpose and plan. Our ways are not His ways for sure! Do you trust Him? Enjoy the tempo of a God-breathed life by letting Him set the pace. Remember the words of the Psalmist,

“Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand. 24You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to honor and glory.”

Psalms 73:23-24 AMP

Let me encourage you to give the steering wheel to God and simply enjoy the ride! Have a blessed day, Pastor Ken
