His Victory is Ours

“but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose]” 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 AMP

The Word of God tells us that we can have victory in our lives and conquer Satan’s demonic attacks. The word victor is a military word describing the success of the warrior! It means to have superiority over the attacking army. We know that Satan has an army of warriors whose whole purpose is to derail us from the work of God and destroy our lives! I always remind those in recovery that God has a plan for their lives and the enemy managed to derail it for a bit by addiction. Satan knew that those he captured had a divine call and authority which will wreak havoc on the kingdom of darkness! Read the words of the Holy Spirit in 2 Corinthians.

“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him.” 2 Corinthians 2:14 AMP

Do you see it? God is spreading His knowledge of Himself through us! We are the reflection of the Father. If Satan can mar that reflection, he suppresses the image of God. Look at our opening verse again. The next thing we see is a pathway to victor over any area of our lives that are not pleasing to God.

The word steadfast is the word meaning to “remain seated!” Steadfast is that which endures every change and contradiction brought against itself. It speaks of permanence! We read in the book of Isaiah a statement about the only thing with permanence.

“The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8 AMP

The next thing we see is that we should be busy with God’s agenda! We are not only to be busy but to “excel” in our work for the Lord! The word here means to be “present abundantly; or to be present in excess.” The Apostle Paul uses this word to describe the work of God in our lives.

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think[infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us,” Ephesians 3:20 AMP

The verse concludes with the encouragement to continue in the work abundantly and not to fall for the lie that it doesn’t matter! Remember that it is God who is at work to bring about His will and purposes. We are the vessels through which He is accomplishing that task! We may not understand but His promise is that whatsoever we put our had to will prosper if it is in line with His purpose!

We can rest assured that whatever things we face, whether a work God calls us to or an area of our lives that needs to be brought under His control, we can experience victory. We must remember though that whatever the issue there is a battle! Satan will through everything he can at you to discourage and derail your divine mission! Always remember that we are more than conquers through Christ! Have a blessed day, Pastor Ken
