“Who is a God like You, who forgives wickedness And passes over the rebellious acts of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He [constantly] delights in mercy and lovingkindness.19He shall again have compassion on us; He will subdue and tread underfoot our wickedness [destroying sin’s power]. Yes, You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.” Micah 7:18-19 AMP
Before I came to personally know God the Father, I pictured Him as an angry old man ready to drop a lightning bolt on me for my sins. What a powerful misperception—one that Satan uses well—to instill fear about the One who loves us most. Micah was a prophet living under the Law, a covenant that demanded death for disobedience. Yet even then, he understood something many today still struggle to grasp: God loves us. I knew John 3:16 long before I experienced its reality.
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 AMP
They were only words on a page to me. There was no personal connection—no lived experience—to confirm their truth.
The night I surrendered my life to Him, I was reading Romans 10:8–10:
“But what does it say? ‘THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART’… because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord… and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved…”
Romans 10:8–10 AMP
I stopped cold. I thought, “I’ve said so many things with my mouth—mostly lies. What would make this any different?” So I prayed, “God, teach me what it means to believe in my heart.” Suddenly, I was overwhelmed with a warmth unlike anything I had ever felt. I looked up and saw Jesus standing in the corner of the room. I cried out, “What do You want from me? I am everything You’re not. I lie, I cheat, I steal—my life is a mess!” In that moment, He looked at me as if I were the most valuable thing He had ever seen and said, “I love you.” It broke me. Now I understand John 3:16—not as a verse on a sign, but as a personal reality. Scripture proclaims this same truth:
“God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them…”
2 Corinthians 5:18–19 AMP
Our passage in Micah asks a profound question:
“Who is a God like You who forgives wickedness and passes over rebellion?”
This does not mean God ignores sin. It means He has made a way for sin’s power to be subdued and for reconciliation to be possible.
He delights in mercy.
What is your perception of God?
An angry man?
A vengeful judge?
An executioner waiting for failure?
Or a Father who delights in mercy and longs to reconcile?
I encourage you today—reach out and experience the love He has had for you from the very beginning.
Have a blessed day,
Pastor Ken

No one like our God
He chose us before the foundation of world.and when we were sinner He paid our price.
