“O send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling place.” Psalm 43:3 AMP
The world offers countless solutions for success and fulfillment. People spend time and money searching for answers—looking to others who appear to have found the “secret” to life—only to discover they are no better off than when they began. But God offers something different. He offers light. Scripture tells us:
“In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.” John 1:4 AMP
If we truly want to understand life, we must know the One who gives it. Before Christ, Scripture describes humanity as living in darkness:
“The people who were sitting in darkness have seen a great Light…” Matthew 4:16 AMP
This was the condition of the world then—and in many ways, it still is today. But everything changes when we encounter Christ.
“For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.”
Ephesians 5:8 AMP
Do you see it? We are not just called out of darkness—we are called to walk differently. The Psalmist’s prayer is simple and powerful: “Send out Your light… let it lead me.” Jesus gives us the answer to that prayer:
“I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12 AMP
Light does more than illuminate—it guides. It reveals truth. It exposes what is hidden.
It shows the path forward. But light must be followed. Jesus did not only come to save us—He came to show us how to live.
“For you have been called for this purpose… leaving you an example, so that you may follow in His footsteps.” 1 Peter 2:21 AMP
This means we are called to respond. To walk in His ways. To grow in holiness. To live in the truth He has revealed. Scripture tells us to:
“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling…” Philippians 2:12 AMP
Not to earn salvation—but to live out what God has already done within us. That doesn’t mean that we are justified by our works or working out our salvation. It does however mean that there is an expectation that we now walk in the light of His Word and continually move to holiness in our lives. The invitation is clear. We are called to Come into the light, follow His truth, and walk in His ways.
