He is Faithful

“Therefore know [without any doubt] and understand that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who is keeping His covenant and His [steadfast] lovingkindness to a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; Deuteronomy 7:9 AMP

Here is another great promise given to those who would choose to love the Lord! T Amplified translation word know expresses the meaning correctly. It is confidence based upon the promiser’s ability to deliver! We see it emphasized again in the word faithful. The Hebrew word was used to describe a master craftsman who is more than able to create a masterpiece! The Apostle Paul reminded us that we are that masterpiece God is creating!

“For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” Ephesians 2:10 AMP

Notice the flow of the experience. We are created new in Christ Jesus when we are born-again. Following that experience we should be ready for good works that God is assigning to us. That all happens as we are “…spiritually transformed and renewed.” It is then and only then that we can truly experience the “…good life.” We read the cry of Hosea in his book the following.

“So let us know and become personally acquainted with Him; let us press on to know and understand fully the [greatness of the] LORD [to honor, heed, and deeply cherish Him]. His appearing is prepared and is as certain as the dawn, And He will come to us [in salvation] like the [heavy] rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”Hosea 6:3 AMP

It is in the restoration of the personal relationship that we really begin to know and understand the greatness of our God. It was our relationship with the creator that was lost in Eden and now can be restored through the forgiving work of our Lord and Savior. God moved heaven and hell to reach us amid our sin. Isaiah wrote about the restorative plan of God.

“‘For I will pour out water on him who is thirsty, And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring And My blessing on your descendants;” Isaiah 44:3 AMP

God has released streams of living water in the land of our lives that used to be dead and barren! The promise in our verse today is to those who would choose to “…love Him and keep His commandments.” I pray that you will come to know Him in a more intimate was so that you will love Him and keep His commandments! Have a blessed day, Pastor Ken
